Tuesday poems

Large blankets
Steady chairs
Tall bunkbed
Pillows all around
Lights turned low
It's fort time!

Cook eggs on sidewalk day
Sweat pours down
Even children slow dawn
Time for ice cream

Monday imageristic poems

Snow descends quickly
Hail hits hard
Rain sprinkles down
The sun shines
In only fifteen minutes

Snug hats
Warm gloves
Toasty jacket
Long scarf
Fur-lined boot
All a kid needs in winter

And again!

First school day of the week
Wish it was still the weekend
Yep, it's milkshake Monday!

Crowded room quiets
Lights dim overhead and then brighter on stage
Time for the performance!

Saturday, January 28, 2012

Tada!

Faucet dripping
Roof sagging
Neighbors yelling
Bed creaky
First apartment together
But it's still home

Knitting needles clacking
Tv gently humming
Chocolate chip cookies in the oven
Everyone loves Grandma's house

Poems

Sorry the two are late but I had a migraine last night and kind of just passed out really early

Stars shining bright
In the black night
The orange moon shining down
What a night

Vivid green grass
Tall orange flowers
Trees creating shade
Soft wind blowing
Deer gather there

Soft music gently flowing
People dancing on the floor
Gentle murmurs
Followed by softer touches

Children quietly giggle
On the floor
Surrounded by pillows and blankets
Don't want to wake the parents

Very useful is a hat
Warm and comforting
Colorful and nice
Too bad the head isn't.

Cold day
Snow falling softly
Warm blanket
Hot chocolate
Nothing could make this day better

Pirate Bunny

Freckled tan, the pirate bunny’s a friend.
The size of a hand is its body
And its black ears with bright red tips
easily dwarves its head.

A brother to the cute avatars
in the game Little Big Planet
with its tubby body and squat arms and legs,
it wears a bright red shirt and a black belt.

An eye patch adorns the one eye,
Yet its grinning mouth makes it cute.
Even its eyebrow seems to be asking,
“What?  I didn’t do it!”

The belly button finishes its cuteness.
Made out of yarn, the pirate bunny is very light.
While still soft, the crocheted pattern
Is rough to show it’s still a pirate.
