Tuesday

We had class in the morning but nothing in the evening so after two hours of working on our papers and planning our itinerary, we set off.  First we went to see the outside of the Tower of London.  With it costing 20 pounds to get in, we did not go in because you can get in for free on Sundays if you go to the church service.  But it truly was a gorgeous building.
The totality of it was built in three different parts with it getting more defended as it got out.  They even had some stone lions there to represent the lions that used to be there along with part of the moat still there.

We did visit a gift shop because we realized that we really had to start getting gifts for other people.  While there, D'Layna and I saw a WWI memorial for those men who died at sea and were not buried on land.
We walked along the Thames for a bit to see the Tower of London Bridge which was built semi-recently.  At least compared to the Tower of London.
We then went to walk across the Millennium Bridge.  We walked there even though it was a bit of a distance.  We did get a good view of the business side of London though.  Most everyone we saw was in business suits except for another tourist group, really.
It was fun and free to walk across the Millennium Bridge.  We had really good views going both ways down the Thames in addition to just walking across this artifact that was in the seventh Harry Potter movie.
We then actually went inside the Globe (YAY!!), primarily for me, and I bought a Globe souvenir for myself.  I also wanted to buy something that had the Shakespeare quote from A Midsummer's Night Dream, "Oh, what fools these mortals be!"  But I didn't want to spend too much there, though if we do walk buy again, I may not be able to resist.
We walked by St. Paul's Cathedral, again, to walk back to that Tube stop and then went back to Highbury.  The rest of the night we spent packing and working on our paper.  We were not renting our rooms for the night that we would be in Belgium so it was entirely possible that someone else would get our rooms.
